CNR-ICCOM Florence participates in Bright Night 2023 – Florence, 29/09/2023
On 09/29/2023 from 5pm to 11pm, on the occasion of the European Night of Researchers, Piazza S.S. Annunziata in Florence was filled with stories and scientific research projects to celebrate BRIGHT NIGHT. The researchers from the Florentine headquarters of CNR-ICCOM were also present at the stand dedicated to the CNR and to the celebration of the centenary of its birth, talking about the fundamental impact that Green Chemistry has on society. In particular, the research activities of the LEaF Lab (Light-to-Energy and Fuels Laboratory) of CNR-ICCOM were described as part of the “VertiGROW” (Research@CNR), “CANVAS” (Electrical System Research, PT 2019-2021) and “High Efficiency Photovoltaics” (Ricerca di Sistema Elettrico, PT 2022-2024; https://www.enea.it/it/Ricerca_sviluppo/lenergia/ricerca-di-sistema-elettrico), activities that are aimed at the development of new photovoltaic technologies alternatives to traditional photovoltaics, such as dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSC) and luminescent solar concentrators (LSC), with the aim of stimulating and contextualising the discussion on the energy problem and on the production of energy from sustainable sources. In addition to ICCOM researchers, colleagues from other institutes in the Territorial Research Area of Florence, such as IBE, INO, IFAC, IGSG and ISC, also took turns at the CNR stand. CNR researchers also presented the many scientific dissemination activities aimed at young people such as the LEDIS project (https://www.ibe.cnr.it/progetti/ledis-leggi-di-scienza/), the CHANGEGAME project (https: //www.changegame.cnr.it/) and RM@School (https://rmschools.isof.cnr.it/).
