Title: Vertical Farming: Development of a prototype to produce high value horticultural crops enriched by bioactive molecules.

Abstract: VertiGrow (funded by Progetti@CNR scheme) aims i) to apply high efficiency LEDs to drive the production of secondary metabolites (SM) in plants by manipulating the spectral composition of light and ii) to produce a laboratory prototype using perovskites and cells solar DSSCs to power the LEDs, thanks to the participation of the CNR, IPSP, IMM, Nanotec and ICCOM institutes. The project will also make use of the collaboration with the group of Prof. Jörg-Peter Schnitzler and Dr. Andrea Ghirardo (Helmholtz Munich, Germany) where part of the growth experiments with LEDs with different frequencies of the emitted radiation and the metabolomic analyzes will be carried out.
