RdS PTR 22-24
Title: High efficiency photovoltaics.
ICCOM Principal Investigator: Alessandro Mordini.
Project type: National.
Duration: 01/01/2022 – 31/12/2024.
Abstract: This integrated project will consider the development of materials, solar cell architectures and manufacturing processes that allow the production of high-efficiency photovoltaic cells with industrial implications. In particular, the project aims to improve the efficiency of electricity generation by photovoltaic (PV) devices, with the goal to develop new solutions and methodologies that favor the penetration of PV into the electricity system or that optimize the management of PV systems. The project will study solutions for sustainable agrivoltaics and devices that can be useful for a new generation of PV modules for integration into buildings (BIPV). It is also planned to develop tools and methods to identify suitable areas and evaluate the solar energy potential for photovoltaics. Furthermore, new solutions for the management of photovoltaic systems are tested, with the application of digital O&M methodologies.
Regarding the activity of ICCOM, the objective will be the optimization of the materials constituting DSSC devices in order to obtain an improvement in their stability and to simplify the construction of large cells, maintaining control of properties such as color and, above all, the perceived optical transparency.
