Title: Towards a Sustainable Chemistry: Design of Innovative Metal-Ligand Systems for Catalysis and Energy Applications
ICCOM Principal Investigator: Maurizio Peruzzini
Project Type: National
Duration: 05/02/2017-04/02/2020
Abstract: This research project based on the “molecular design” of innovative metal-ligand systems, aims at developing new environmental friendly catalytic reactions and metal assisted transformations based on renewable resources and avoiding the use of toxic substances. To achieve these results, this project will be organized around two main topics: a) formation and stabilization of unconventional molecular fragment through metal coordination; b) new organometallic compounds for catalytic or metal-mediated reactions applied to environmentally benign transformations, fine-chemicals production and energy problems such as generation of renewable fuels (e.g.hydrogen production).
