ECS_00000041 /ECS8 – Innovation, digitalisation and sustainability ecosystem for the widespread economy in Central Italy (VITALITY)
The priority line of the Innovation, digitalisation and sustainability ecosystem for the widespread economy in Central Italy falls within the scope of the “Digital, Industry, Aerospace” area of the National Research Plan (PNR). There are different socio-economic, urban and territorial characteristics that the Abruzzo, Marche and Umbria regions have in common (low population density, significant historical, environmental and landscape value; production sector made up mainly of small and medium-sized enterprises). Innovative solutions to increase the coverage of services, improve the quality, safety and sustainability of production systems, public administrations and living and working conditions are fundamental to fully exploit the development potential of local production systems. From the point of view of research aimed at the innovative development of the territory, the innovations will include digital technologies, materials sciences and nanotechnologies, engineering, architecture and design, physics, energy technologies, medical sciences and biotechnologies, biomedical engineering, psychosocial and communication sciences. As regards the transfer of research results, the production and service areas involved will be: the home and furnishing system, architecture and design; automotive, naval and aerospace mechanics; composite materials; the fashion system; agriculture and food; the productive sectors and services linked to culture and training; the sectors linked to personal health, assistance and social inclusion; the large services and tourism sector engaged in digital transformation.
