Title: Joint Lab CNR – University of Strasbourg

Research Theme: New materials with optical properties suitable for applications in energy production and bioassay

Principal Investigator at ICCOM: Alessandro Mordini

Project Type: National

Duration: from 11/2015 to 10/2018

Abstract: The first goal of this research project is to consolidate the collaboration between the two participant laboratories (CNR-ICCOM and University of Strasbourg), allowing them to develop a combined research effort, oriented to the achievement of common scientific goals. The research areas considered in the project are: (1) Synthesis and application of new organic conjugated materials for the preparation of conductive hydrogels; (2) Development of new organic photosensitizers for advanced energy applications, such as new generation photovoltaic cells. The synergic activity of the two laboratories will be ensured by the relevant experience of the CNR-ICCOM research group in the design and synthesis of photoactive compounds, which will be optimally combined with the expertise of the University of Strasbourg research group in the preparation of advanced nanomaterials for energy and biomedical applications.

Other ICCOM participants: Gianna Reginato, Massimo Calamante, Lorenzo Zani

Partnership: Prof. Luisa de Cola, Institut de Science et d’Ingénierie Supramoléculaires, Université de Strasbourg, France.

Sponsored by: Italian National Research Council
