Title: Florentine laboratory for sustainable energy

Project Coordinator: Alessandro Mordini

Project Type: National

Duration: 05/2016 – 10/2019

Abstract: The EnergyLab Project aims at the creation of a full energy supply chain that starting from the generation of electricity through a new class of photovoltaic technologies, brings about on one hand the production of alternative energy sources such as hydrogen, and by another the realization, through the use and efficient conversion of carbon dioxide (CO2), of “solar fuels” and chemical products with high added value. The project is divided in 4 Work Packages: WP1 – new generation of organic and hybrid photovoltaic solar cells; WP2 – sustainable production of hydrogen by photo water splitting; WP3 – use of CO2 as a material for reversible storage of hydrogen; WP4 – production of fuels and chemicals from solar energy through CO2 electroreduction.

Partnership: ICCOM-CNR, INO-CNR.

ICCOM Participants: WP1-2: Ottavia Bettucci, Matteo Bessi, Massimo Calamante, Bianca Cecconi, Alessio Dessì, Daniele Franchi, Alessandro Mordini, Maurizio Peruzzini (WP2 leader), Gianna Reginato (WP1 leader); WP3: Federica Bertini, Antonella Guerriero, Luca Gonsalvi (WP leader), Irene Mellone, Maurizio Peruzzini; WP4: Manuela Bevilacqua, Marco Bellini, Maria Folliero, Jonathan Filippi, Andrea Marchionni, Hamish Miller, Simonetta Moneti, Werner Oberhauser, Francesco Vizza (WP leader).
