Abstract: The project aims at developing biochar-based products with specific environmental functions. In particular, the effects of coating biochar with organic molecules on its retention capacity of nitrogen forms, with a concomitant decrease of N2O emissions, and on its soil carbon stabilization will be evaluated. To this end, the interaction of biochar surface with several organic coatings, either synthetic or natural, will be investigated.
