Title: Protection and enhancement of the ancient artisan heritage of the Moroccan carpet.

Abstract: This project aims to carry out applied research in a strategic theme for the Sustainable Development Goals outlined by Morocco. In particular, scientific tools will be implemented for the characterization of rural carpets colored with natural dyes and a guide to dyeing, referring to the collection of Moroccan coloring plants, will be created. The project also provides for the training of a group of young artisans in dyeing techniques, using natural dyes and at the same time raising awareness among artisans on environmental problems due to the use of chemical dyes. Finally, extensive scientific documentation will be produced on the ancient carpets kept in the Oudayas Museum in Rabat and in the Dar El Jamai Museum in Meknes.
