CECAM Workshop “Nonequilibrium dynamical solvent effects on excited states: from spectroscopy to photoreactivity” 14-17 June 2021
CECAM (Centre Européen de Calcul Atomique et Moléculaire) will organize the workshop “Nonequilibrium dynamical solvent effects on excited states: from spectroscopy to photoreactivity” that will take place as virtual event from 14th to 17th June 2021. Dr. Fabrizio Santoro and Dr. Giacomo Prampolini, CNR-ICCOM Pisa researchers, will co-organize the event.
The solvent relaxation response to an out-of-equilibrium solute often determines the kinetics and energetics of any physicochemical process in solution. In particular, the study of nonequilibrium dynamical solvent effects on excited state lifetime and reactivity is at the forefront of the current research in physical chemistry. This workshop will bring together leading scientists from theory and experiment to push forward the discussion on nonequilibrium solvent effects on excited states. It will cover excited state dynamics in complex environments, advanced transient spectroscopies, energy and charge transfer processes, nonadiabatic transitions at conical intersections, solvent response dynamics, excited state reactivity (proton trasnfer, proton coupled electron transfer, etc) and cutting-edge methodological developments in the framework of solvent description.
