This year, the CNR Research Area in Pisa celebrates 25 years since its inauguration on December 6, 2000. To celebrate this important milestone, a rich program of events has been organized for Bright Night – The Night of Researchers in Tuscany, on Friday, 26th September 2025, concurrent with initiatives throughout Europe. After three days of seminars, talks, and open workshops for high schools, the CNR Pisa is offering an afternoon packed with interactive workshops, scientific demonstrations, and educational meetings open to all. This year, ICCOM Pisa is once again enthusiastically participating, offering original and engaging contributions.

Bright Tech Talk

Fabrics that protect: the power of natural molecules (Dr. Elisa Passaglia) A journey into the world of advanced materials: innovative fabrics with functional properties and bioactive molecules, designed for applications in fashion, healthcare, sports, and cosmetics.

Open Laboratories

Sustainable Plastics: Is the Future Bio? From the Linear to the Circular Economy (Dr. Elisa Passaglia, Dr. Serena Coiai, Dr. Francesca Cicogna, Dr. Norma Mallegni). An interactive activity to explore sustainable plastics and understand, through games and simple experiments, the differences between traditional plastics and biobased, biodegradable alternatives.

Landing like a bee! (Dr. Stefano Legnaioli and Dr. Francesca Bretzel, IRET) In a dark lab lit by UV light, discover how insects see flowers. Special filters reveal pollination structures invisible to the human eye. A unique experience to explore nature through the eyes of a bee!
