Dr. M. Vanni awarded the SCI Prize for Best PhD Thesis in Inorganic Chemistry 2021

Dr. Matteo Vanni, postdoctoral research fellow at CNR-ICCOM Sesto Fiorentino and doctoral student at the University of Siena in the period 2017-2020, has been named winner of the Award for the Best Doctoral Thesis in Inorganic Chemistry 2021, in the field of materials chemistry. The award was attributed by the Board of the Inorganic Chemistry Division of the Italian Chemical Society (SCI), and will be virtually conferred on the occasion of the XXVII National SCI Congress (14-23 September 2021). In his research activity, Dr. Vanni studied the reactivity with metal precursors and the applications in catalysis of exfoliated black phosphorus (phosphorene). On the occasion of the Congress, Dr. Vanni will give a presentation entitled ‘Reactivity of Black Phosphorus with Pd Compounds’ where he will present the results of his thesis work.
