The Institute of Energy and Climate Research (IEK) of Forschungszentrum Jülich investigates modern energy conversion technologies within the framework of climate and environmental protection. IEK-STE (Systems Analysis and Technology Evaluation) investigates the long-term characteristics of energy systems and the consequences of energy transition in the context of transformation and innovation. IEK-14 (Electrochemical Process Engineering) is focused on the research and development of electrolyzers and fuel cells, as well as fuel synthesis and safety in the use of hydrogen.
