Education: Graduated in Chemistry (110/110 cum laude) in 1991 at the University of Pisa discussing the thesis “Studies of molecular dynamics and orientational order of mesogens in nematic and smectic liquid-crystalline phases by means of 2H NMR”, supervisor prof. C.A. Veracini. PhD in Chemistry (70/70 cum laude) in 1997 at the Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa discussing the thesis “Study of polymeric materials by means of solid state NMR”, supervisors prof. C.A. Veracini and prof. F. Ciardelli.
Work Experience: Associate professor at the Department of Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry of the University of Pisa, where he’s teacher in Physical Chemistry and he leads the Solid-State NMR group. Previously, researcher at the same institution from 2001 to 2014. From 1991 to 2001 several research activities carried out at University of Pisa, Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa, Italian CNR (dr. C. Forte), University of Durham, UK (prof. R.K. Harris).
Management: Scientific manager of several contracts with pharmaceutical and materials companies for investigations by solid-state NMR techniques. Research associate at the ICCOM-CNR institute of Pisa. Member of the GIDRM board for the periods 2008-2010 and 2011-2013.
Publications: Author of about 105 publications on international journals, 50 invited lectures and 250 poster or oral communications to national and international conferences.
