From the 5th to the 10th of June 2019 the sixteenth edition of the SCIENZA ESTATE event has teken place, promoted by OpenLab, a service of education and scientific dissemination of the University of Florence.

On 6-7 June 2019, a series of events were held at the Sesto Fiorentino Science Park, with the participation of the University of Florence, LENS and the CNR Research Area.

On the occasion of the important anniversaries of this year, such as the 500 years since the death of Leonardo da Vinci, the 150th anniversary of the first publication of the Periodic Table or 50 years after the landing on the Moon, the theme of this 16th year of ScienzEstate has been: " From the genius of Leonardo to the landing on the Moon: the scientific and technological discoveries in the progress of humanity ".

"Make Innovation" Day

The event, organized by the Energy, Technology and Green Economy District (DTE2V), aims to stimulate and increase the Innovation capacity of the subjects operating in the Tuscan energy supply chains. During the event, the main opportunities  to undertake innovation paths will be presented, with particular reference to training courses, support and support services in patenting and internationalization as well as national and European funding opportunities.

Periodic Table: 150 years, but does not show them!

Today, 150 years ago, Dmitry Ivanovich Mendeleev presented the Periodic Table of the Elements. The ICCOM-CNR institute, with the participation of the Interdivisional Dissemination Group of the Chemical Culture of the SCI, will organize on the 21st of March as part of the Alternanza Scuola Lavoro project a morning dedicated to the Periodic Table.

ENERCHEM-SCHOOL 2018

ENERCHEM-SCHOOL is the School of the Interdisciplinary Group of Renewable Energy Chemistry of the Italian Chemical Society, dedicated mainly to young researchers, doctoral and post-doc students from both academia and industry involved in research on the various aspects of Chemistry for Renewable Energies. ENERCHEM-SCHOOL wants to be a reference point in the national and international landscape of Chemistry for Renewable Energy. The School follows the 1st Congress of EnerCHEM, successfully held in Florence in February 2016 (the next edition of the Congress is scheduled in 2020). The School will be held in a splendid setting, some ten minutes from the center of Florence, in the hills leading to Fiesole, immersed in one of the most beautiful and evocative scenery in Tuscany.
